The present trend is to boost up the renewable energy penetration rate in the existing power systems. Among the renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, biogas/biomass, tidal, geothermal, etc., wind energy has the huge potential to compete with the conventional energy sources. As a result, the research on wind power is progressing drastically. The research requires the involvement from many engineering and science disciplines, e.g., mechanical,
electrical, electronics, computer, and aerospace engineering. Each of the fields is unique, awesome, and has its own beauty. The joint effort from different fields has brought this technology to a mature level.
