Rotating machinery or turbomachinery is a machine with a rotating component that transfers energy to a fluid or vice versa. Rotating machines are one of the most widely used machines. They are used in everyday life, at least once a day. We find a turbomachine (fan) in a hair dryer and in a computer. We find a turbomachine (pump) in a refrigerator. Other commonly used household machines are clothes washers and dish washers. These machines need to drain the dirty water and replace with clean water. To do so an important component of these machines is a pump that is used to remove the dirty water. A water pump (hydrodynamic pump) is also essential to our car?s operation by maintaining an optimum operating temperature of the engine. The pump ensures that the coolant keeps circulating through the engine block, hoses and radiator, and maintains an optimum operating temperature

As part of these upgrades, automation systems are required for process control and monitoring. These automation systems must be installed to provide effective monitoring and control of the wastewater treatment processes. There are many methods of implementing an automation system, and the purpose of this document is to provide an overall strategy for automation installations that are consistent with the City’s needs. It is expected that this document will form the basis for future design work.

The degree and importance of automation at municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) have increased with the development of technology and tightening of treatment requirements. The objective of this paper is to assess and document the current status of process automation at WWTPs in Finland to determine successful practices and the needs of plant operators. Renewing ammonia or organic content
removal processes to total nitrogen removal processes has also increased the need of Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA). The survey has quantified that the reliability and accuracy of the on-line sensor measurement has improved recently, which makes the use of on-line measurements in control more applicable. The use of nutrient sensors in control is apparently still rare at Finnish WWTPs even though their use for monitoring purposes is common.

ITU-T Recommendation L.77 describes methods to install optical cables inside sewer ducts, which applies to both the cable installation and the pre-installation of an infrastructure, if requested. This Recommendation covers both man- and non-man-accessible sewer ducts. This Recommendation is not intended to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Therefore, it shall be the responsibility of the user of this Recommendation to establish appropriate health and safety practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations, if any, prior to its use.
